Francesca Elsaesser

“No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.”

― P.T. Barnum

And as a result maybe just a bit more understanding.

About Me

Since 2008 I have been working independently as a coach, counsellor and trainer. Originally I studied English and Italian Literature and subsequently worked as a lecturer for many years. From very early on my main interest has been trying to find out what makes people tick, what they think, what they feel, why they act the way they do.
(*Francesca to my English and Italian friends, clients and colleagues).

My Expertise

My area of expertise is emotional stress relief and I help people place their personal resources where it really matters.
The main subjects are health promotion, including burnout prevention, the Self, authenticity, emotion regulation, relationships and communication, giftedness, high sensitivity, crisis intervention.

Variety and Otherness

What I particularly care about is otherness in any respect as there can be a lot of  suffering involved. People who perceive themselves as "different" very often find life difficult, feeling out of place, feeling they don't belong, feeling misunderstood. And blaming themselves where there is no blame to be given.
But at the same time there is a lot of happiness too.
The world as it is today needs precisely this kind of people. People who think differently, people who look further, poeple who are ready to take responsiblity. Because traditional thinking does not necessarily provide us with new solutions. It is a very personal concern of mine to help these people to free themselves, to be fully aware of their own value and to enable them to contribute their very special gifts.

Methodological Approach

Language, learning, doing. Passing on knowledge and know-how is, and has been, one of the most important elements of my work.  And while the subjects have changed, essence and procedure remain the unchanged.
There is no difference whether we learn a new skill, a new subject or learn how to manage our lives, the dynamics in our brains are the same.
And to me more knowledge is more freedom too. We can rely on ourselves; we are aware of our true potential and what we can, and must, do to thrive.

Motivation and Recent Findings of Neuroscience

I use a variety of means and methods, mainly coming from the fields of neuroscience, psychology and communication – language in particular is a very powerful tool when it comes to regulating our emotions and thus enabling us to influence our thinking, our imaginations, our actions in a positive way.
As most of you must have experienced, sometimes it is just the one word can make a huge difference: it can make us give up or encourage us to go on.

I get extremely satisfying results with the wingwave method (v. REM-Intervention, EMDR).
It begins where a problem starts, i.e. at the very first moment we perceive a situation – in our brain.
Under extreme stress the teamwork between our hemispheres is impaired, they do not manage to cooperate well anymore.
By means of a very specific intervention we can induce your natural stress relief processes, neutralize stress triggers and provide a lasting motivational boost.
After just a few sessions you will have regained your full performance capability.

Personal Qualities

An optimistic attitude combined with creativity, a fine-tuned ear for the very specific language of the people I meet, the ability to encourage and "still see opportunities where others have given up already" (client’s comment).

"Very often past burdens and adverse circumstances of the present cost us far too much precious energy. It is energy that we could use to a much better purpose in other areas dearer to us. This is not necessary and can be changed with little effort." fe
